Forresters Lane

INTRODUCTION

Forresters Lane is a cocktail bar showcasing the latest trends in international cocktails: bespoke, ‘interactive’ drinks using the freshest ingredients.

THE ASSIGNMENT

Brand Identity for the bar which would reflect their style of service/offering and complements the inspiration behind the interior design of the venue.

THE CONCEPTION

Design of the interior space of Forresters Lane’s was heavily influenced by the Swill-French architect Le Corbusier’s Le Cabanon which was built around 1951 for his personal use.  Le Cabanon was a tiny studio where he could escape from the background noise and concentrate on his personal work.  Just like the Le Cabanon, Forrester Lane is like a retreat space for those who seek to enjoy a nice sip of modern classic cocktails in a relaxed environment.  It was important for me that the brand design reflected both the whimsical nature of the cocktail offering and the distinctive style of Le Corbusier’s approach to architecture.

THE SOLUTION

After a careful consideration, we have decided to go for a modular logo system which can be adapted to different uses.  The logo mark is a combination of 6 types of glassware which are commonly found in bars, suggesting the nature of the offering at Forresters Lane.  When all icons are combined it has a resemblance of an architectural plan.  The colour palette used for the brand was influenced by the eye-catching colour theme of the Le Cabanon and Swiss art museum dedicated to the work of Le Corbusier.
