Gear Homestead

INTRODUCTION

Gear Homestead is a beautiful period function venue & Café set in a stunning location above Porirua Harbour just outside Wellington.  It is a very popular spot for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and casual afternoon coffee.   Historic Gear Homestead has undergone extensive modern renovation recently and I was asked to put together a new brand identity for them.

THE ASSIGNMENT

A simple, clean and modern logo with reminiscing of the current logo.

THE  CONCEPTION

Keep the gate as it is very important to the client but it needs to be simplified and lines need to be straightened for the modern look.

THE  SOLUTION

The gate is much cleaner than the original logo and more defined.  I have also incorporated the monogram which can be used on its own when space is limited and the full logo can not be used.
